Happy New Year, 2012!

I know it's well into January. And I've been MIA since October. And it seems ridiculous that I can just pop in here with some belated New Year's greeting like I've been here all along and not completely tardy for the updating party. But I'm seriously not late. It really is the beginning of the new year -- err, the Chinese New Year, anyway. So, most happiest of new years, peeps!

To recap 2011:

January: official separation from that man :: banged on the door at the House of God for life/purpose/wtf? clarification :: lost 30 lbs because of the stress

February: my child turned 12 :: attended a NASCAR event with my best friend, Hilary :: started to think I was losing my mind from the stress

March: totally realized that even Adele understood what I was going through :: became a godmother to my Jakers :: visited my doctor and was diagnosed with PTSD (separation and finding out what your husband has been up to completely sucks) :: retained a lawyer

April: filed for divorce on April Fool's Day (yeah...the irony) :: ziplined with Ava :: my life list became self-aware

May: spent Mother's Day with my cousin and our daughters and huge bags of weeds (not bags of weed; hello!) :: my brain started to reconcile the fact that my life didn't end just because my marriage did :: was disfigured by an air hockey puck

June: went on a vacay with Ava to Florida for nine days :: drove to the Grand Canyon with Ava and Laura (first road trip ever with my sister!) :: started to feel normal again

July: 30 day photo challenge :: gave up Diet Coke (we've since reconciled) :: celebrated my birthday with my two favorite women, Laura and Angie

August: new school year started :: divorce decree finalized :: had fun being single for the first time in over 13 years

September: drank far too many Mojitos :: decided to keep my personal life private

October: updated my blog header :: started getting rid of all remaining traces of that man :: bought a brand new house on Halloween

November: prayed constantly that the house funding wouldn't fall through :: sold off everything that I didn't want or wouldn't miss or that was left behind by that man :: packed up an entire house

December: house loan closed successfully :: moved my child, two dogs, and a house full of furniture (along with some muscle-y help) on a rainy day :: slept in my own brand-new house paid for with my own money :: spent a perfect Christmas with my sister and Ava :: watched the entire fifth season of Dexter with Ava on the last day of 2011 :: realized that 2011 was finally over! (praise you, baby Jesus!)

I laughed more in 2011 than I have ever in my entire life. I peed my pants more, too. They kinda go together. For serious.
